Essen is a lofi electronic-pop artist. He began making music independently in 2018, having formerly collaborated as lead vocalist for New Hands. His music is a combination of jangling electronics, mutated vocals and Bacharach-friendly keys. His debut studio EP, "Predictive Step", was released in 2019; its follow-up, "The Dregs", is set for release in 2022.
